Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) ensures through strategic planning, professional guidance and stringent surveillance under well establish regulatory framework, the operational of safe secure efficient regular and environment friendly national civil aviation system that conforms to the national legislative requirement and the International Standards and Recommended  Practices (SARPs). Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka is looking for energetic enthusiastic and self-motivated personnel who has sound qualification and extensive experience in the field of civil aviation to fill its vacancies in the following posts.

Director (Training Organization and Personnel Licensing)

Remuneration Provided (Salary Scale (HM1-1) - Rs. 140,640 – 15 x 4,100 – 202,140 – as per the MS Circular 01/2025 fully implemented w.e.f 01.01.2027)

  • All Inclusive monthly remuneration of approximately Rs. 233,699.00 (including transport allowance of Rs.50,000.00, if own vehicle is used).
  • Fuel Allowance to the value of 115 litres per month (at the fuel price at the time).
  • Special Technical Allowance of approximately Rs. 240,000.00 for the successful candidate that possesses the necessary qualifications for same.
  • Other Benefits approved by the CAASL.
External Candidate Internal Candidate

Option 1

  1. A Bachelor’s Degree of not less than three (03) years duration, in the field of Natural Science, Air Transport, Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering which is recognized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka;

WITH

  1. A Postgraduate Degree qualification (Masters’) in the field of Aviation or Associate Membership of a recognized Professional Chartered Institute relating to Aviation or successfully completed courses (Managerial Level) of not less than six (06) weeks in the field of Flight Safety/Personnel Licensing conducted by the International Civil Aviation Organization or similar Organization of International repute or any similar qualification which is recognized by the International Civil Aviation organization;

AND

  1. Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience as a Commercial Pilot, Flight Dispatcher, Aircraft Maintenance Engineer or an Air Traffic Controller with full privileges in Air Traffic Control in a Corporation, Statutory Board / Institution / Government owned company or a reputed Private Institution

Option 2

  1. Full Membership of a recognized Professional Chartered Institute relating to Aviation or successfully competition courses on Personnel Licenses including Government Safety/Personnel Licensing Inspector Course (Managerial Level) of not less than six (06) weeks conducted by the International Civil Aviation Organization or similar Organization of International repute or any similar qualification which is recognized by the International Civil Aviation Organization

AND

  1. A Minimum of fifteen (15) years’ experience as a Commercial Pilot, Air Traffic Controller with full privileges or an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Flight Dispatcher in a Corporation, Statutory Board/Institution/Government Owned Company or a reputed Private Institution

Option 1

Having obtained the qualifications required by the external candidates mentioned above.

Option 2

  1. Completion of minimum of five (05) years’ satisfactory service in a post in the Manager category (MM1-1) grade I in the field of Personal Licensing

AND

  1. Unblemished track record for the preceding five (05) years and having earned all increments in the current post.

AND

  1. Having successfully completed advanced training courses approved by the Authority in the field of personal Licensing of not less than six (06) weeks conducted by the International Civil Aviation Organization or its recognized institute;

AND

  1. Good or above grading in the Annual Performance Appraisals for the last five (05) years.

 

Age limits

Director (Training Organization and Personnel Licensing) 35 years - 55 years The upper age limit will not apply to the internal candidates and personnel served in Sri Lanka Air Force, Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Ltd, Local Airlines or Flying Schools.

 

  • Applicants are required to attach copies of documentary evidence for qualifications and experience to prove your eligibility for the applied post/posts.
  • Only the applications sent on the Standard Application forms will be entertained. Applicants who serve any of the Government organizations should apply through the Head of the Organization.
  • Only the candidates satisfying the eligibility criteria will be called for interviews/ test
