09.11.2023 - Fits Air (Pvt) Ltd was certified by the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) to provide self-catering services after full filling the necessary requirements.
23.10.2023 - The Australian Government gifted 12 laptop computers installed with CASTRA X-Ray tutor software, assisting Sri Lanka’s civil aviation to upgrade the existing system towards Computer Based Training (CBT) which will enhance training and certification process of aviation security Screeners & Managers.
15.10.2023 - The 58th Conference of the Directors General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of ICAO Asia and Pacific Regions began at Dhaka, Bangladesh on 15th October through 19th with approximately the 500 delegates, representing 47 countries and 13 international organizations related to Civil Aviation.
The event focused to formulate the recommendations to enhance the region's aviation landscape. The Director General of Civil Aviation, Sri Lanka, Mr. P A Jayakantha too in attendance at this conference. He is also the Moderator for Aviation Security & Facilitation discussions.
09.09.2023 - The Aeronautical Authorities of Sri Lanka and United Arab Emirates met recently to enhance the Bilateral Air Services Relationship between the two friendly states. The primary objective of these discussions was to update the existing air service arrangements between the two nations, aligning it with the evolving trends in the global aviation arena. This update aims to enhance and optimize air transport operations between the UAE and Sri Lanka.
18.08.2023 - The newly appointed Executive Committee members of the Sri Lanka Association of Airlines Representatives (SLAAR) called on Mr. P. A. Jayakantha, the Director General of Civil Aviation & Chief Executive Officer (DGCA & CEO) on 18th August 2023 at the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka.
03.08.2023 - Air Arabia Abu Dhabi received the Foreign Air Operator Certificate (FAOC) from the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka after satisfying the necessary technical and operational requirements in line with the government policy to offer more pathways for foreign airlines to operate flights in to Sri Lanka.
14.07.2023 - The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) successfully conducted a knowledge sharing event for the aviation industry of Sri Lanka titled ‘Sri Lanka Aviation Day’ in collaboration with the IATA on 14th July 2023 at the Auditorium of the CAASL.
23.06.2023 - Air Seychelles was issued with a Foreign Air Operator Certificate (FAOC) by the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) to commence direct air services to Sri Lanka after full filling all the required regulatory requirements.
20.06.2023 - Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL), the regulatory and controlling body for civil aviation to give effect to the International Civil Aviation Convention and matters connected therewith, reviewed its aeromedical examiner’s panel and the recruitment procedure.

28.04.2023 - SriLankan Catering Ltd was certified and license was issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) to provide aviation catering service for all aircraft operations operating from to Sri Lanka after full filling the all required regulatory requirements.

16.02.2023 - Letters of appointments were awarded 16th February 2023 to the first batch of Air Accident Investigators who would take over to investigate air accidents in the Sri Lankan airspace.
Accordingly, 11 Air Accident Investigators received letters of appointment from the Minister.

24-26.01.2023 - The 30th Steering Committee Meeting of the Cooperative Development of Operational Safety and Continuing Airworthiness Programme - South Asia (COSCAP-SA) was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh from 24th -26th of January 2023.
