
Representatives of Mitsubishi Corporation called on the Director General of Civil Aviation & Chief Executive Officer. (DGCA & CEO), together with senior officials of the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL), on 13 July 2026 to discuss opportunities for cooperation in support of the development of Sri Lanka's civil aviation sector.
The discussions focused on key areas of mutual interest, including aviation infrastructure development, airport modernization, technological innovation, and enhancing operational efficiency. Representatives of Mitsubishi Corporation shared their global experience and expertise in delivering aviation-related projects, while CAASL officials outlined Sri Lanka's ongoing initiatives to strengthen aviation safety, security, regulatory oversight, and service excellence in line with international standards.
The meeting also explored potential avenues for future collaboration, with both parties emphasizing the importance of leveraging advanced technologies, innovation, and international best practices to promote the sustainable growth of the aviation industry.
The Director General of Civil Aviation expressed appreciation for Mitsubishi Corporation's interest in Sri Lanka's aviation development and highlighted the value of strategic partnerships in achieving the country's long-term aviation objectives. Representatives of Mitsubishi Corporation also appreciated the opportunity to engage with CAASL and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close dialogue to identify mutually beneficial opportunities.
